Description

There are many jobs in the State of Minnesota that require Background Studies by the Department of Human Services. Thousands of these applicants are being initially disqualified for a position due to something in their criminal background. After an application for a set-aside (appeal) some are no longer disqualified and able to proceed with employment. I have broken down the disqualifications by gender and race for 2018 and 2019. I have specifically looked at the disqualifications for crimes that are considered related to addiction and broken that down by type.
