There is a photocopied letter from the Minnesota Department of Transportation District 7 included with the air photos. The letter reads "January 29, 1993; A. Jacob Odgaard, P.E., Institute of Hydraulics Research, University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA 52242; In reply refer to: Le Sueur & Minnesota River Erosion Study For Iowa Vanes, Aerial Photos and Index Maps; Dear Mr. Odgaard: I have enclosed 3 index maps and 9" x 9" aerial photos for your review and use. I have also enclosed the notes from our fall field trip. Please review the survey information and make any additions that may have been omitted. Could you also use a grease pencil and identify the cross section locations and lengths on the 9" x 9" photos and return them for our field use. We will then use them to collect field surveys. Eventually, we will want these photos and index maps back upon project completion. Thank you.
