Abstract
A systematic effort to achieve consistently high yields and purity of both electrophilic (F-18) F{sub 2} and nucleophilic aqueous F{sup {minus}} at high beam currents (40 {mu}A protons @11 MeV) has led to a pair of improved targets for the Siemens extensive monitoring and analysis of parameters reflecting the status of beam/target interactions. We report here on target design, performance, and characterize target performance and prevent failure.
