Abstract
Minnesota State University, Mankato Educational Talent Search program will serve 694 low-income and/or potential first generation college students per program year. The ETS program will serve students in grades 6-12 with goals of increasing high school persistence, increasing high school graduation in both regular and rigorous courses of study, increase postsecondary enrollment and attainment. Fourteen area schools have been identified as target schools to receive Talent Search services. This program includes collaboration with target schools, institutions of higher education and numerous community organizations. Services include tutoring and/or tutoring referrals, academic advising, preparation for college entrance examinations, assistance with college admission, financial aid and scholarships, exposure to cultural events, financial literacy and career exploration. This program operates under federal regulations, as well as follows MnSCU and specifically Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures in it's operation and fiscal management.
