Preludes on Welsh Hymn Tunes: For Organ
Files
Description
This compilation by Paul Karvonen includes 10 organ Welsh hymns. Influences by the Gymanfa Ganu festivals, where these Welsh hymns can be heard in great numbers. The organ pieces in this book are primarily intended for use in the worship service as preludes, offertories, and postludes, or as introductions to the singing of the hymns by the congregation. These compositions may also be found to be useful as material for recitals as well as for teaching purposes. This book has been written with a two-manual organ in mind. (Some of the pieces are quite playable on only one manual, with pedals.) Organists who have three or more manuals at their disposal will want to choose registrations that would take full advantage of their larger instruments.
