Down syndrome is the most common genetic disorder caused by a chromosomal abnormality. The purpose of this qualitative study was to research the features of Down syndrome and understand its effect on personal and family life. The paper discusses a complete definition and set of characteristics of Down syndrome along with common speech and language skills. In addition, a case study of a child with Down syndrome is presented, exploring the effect of the child's disorder on his life and his family. The qualitative research section will discuss details of qualitative research, the methodology of the study, and the results.
