Description
Therapeutic groups play a dynamic role in a psychiatric patient's recovery towards stabilization and discharge. Stabilization is the overall goal for a patient in a psychiatric setting in order to be discharged from the facility. Therapeutic groups can help a patient achieve such goal. This research gathered information on successful therapeutic groups from other psychiatric impatient programs. With the information gathered, a new therapeutic group curriculum was developed and implemented at an in-psychiatric facility. Verbal feedback from patients on their overall satisfaction of the newly implemented group was obtained.
