Description

The Characterization of this compound was carried out by proton (1H) and Carbon -13 NMR (Nuclear magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy), Infrared Spectroscopy, and mass spectroscopy. The overall research experiment was to make a compound that had not being made in the MSU organic Chemistry and Geology Department. This experiment was carried out by following the procedure of Kenner and Williams (H.W Kenner & N.R Williams, J. Chem. Soc 1955, PG 522-525.) This procedure instiu preparation of Chloro- diethyl-phosphate reacting with phenol under basic conditions to make corresponding aryl-diethyl-phosphate. The compound was purified by using flash chromatography. It structure was confirmed by NMRIR mass spectrometry. Once prepared these compound were subjected to middle catalyzed reaction.
