Abstract
Training graduate teaching assistants (GTA) is an important aspect to the success the basic course. This panel will include a variety of basic courses and their unique perspectives and approaches to training GTAs to make a difference in the classroom. Each panelist will bring a handout with 2-3 strategies. Each audience member will then leave with over 10 ideas to bring to their institutions for training. There will be time for audience interaction and discussion. Gaining insight to how others train GTAs can be imperative to the success of a program. This panel will assist new and veteran course directors by giving them the opportunity to learn from other BCD.
