Redolent
Abstract
Redolent is a collection of thirty-six poems that aims to annotate the arc of a creative shift induced in one’s writing and perspective by a departure from one’s homeland to living in a foreign land. The three parts of the collection emphasize on memories of childhood, an exploration of the tussle with the aspect of belonging and a confrontation with personal experience of crisis and conflict. Through their attempts at illustrating disparate subject and topics, the poems follow the journey of the shift influenced not only in terms of content and subject matter but very prominently in terms of the form of the poems that are written on a notebook left redolent by the perfume of a parent.
