Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between physician empathy and healthcare outcomes for patients. The main points of focus will be how empathy is defined in a healthcare setting, the effects empathy has on health and healing of patients, particularly the empathetic relationship between the physicians and patients and finally how empathy can be better incorporated into healthcare settings.
