Description
According to a study conducted in September of 2001 by the U.S. Department of Commerce, more than one hundred fifteen million people use computers at work. It seems as if computer use policies are being written and revised at the pace of technology. This leaves me asking one question: Are these computer use policies effective? To answer this question, I compared the number of violations recorded in the workplace of firms without a computer use policy to the number of violations recorded in the workplace of firms with a formal computer use policy. The results of this study will indicate the usefulness of having a formal policy regarding computer use in the workplace.
