Description

A qualitative research study was conducted by an undergraduate student. This intent of this original research is to gain an understanding of twin boys with Autism. The researcher discussed the background, characteristics, signs and symptoms, as well as speech and language skills, frequently seen within persons with Autism. It informed the researcher about a specific case of twin boys and their similarities and differences. The researcher gathered data through an interview of the twins' mother. The interview sample was transcribed and coded using qualitative research methods. From this data, patterns emerged related to the family's experience of twin boys with Autism. Final assertions summarizing the data were discussed. It is an important study as Autism continues to increase in frequency and people in general need to be more informed.
